Ash Capital Projects are proud to be delivering an internal refurbishment at Glendower Preparatory School in South Kensington a prestigious independent girls’ school set within a Grade II listed building.
Scheduled for summer 2025, the works will be carried out during the school holidays to avoid disruption to teaching. The scope includes the removal of the spiral staircase, installation of new structural floors, sensitive refurbishment of listed staircases, and a high-specification joinery package. Associated mechanical and electrical works will also be delivered to ensure full integration and compliance with modern standards.
This programme demands a heritage-aware approach combined with efficient project delivery under tight time constraints.
With exclusive access to the building during the school break, our team will complete all works in a single-phase, six-week programme. Early works include the safe removal of existing spiral staircases and the installation of new intermediate floor structures, enabling improved circulation within the school.
The listed staircases will undergo careful refurbishment, with surface restoration and finishing carried out using appropriate materials and techniques to preserve their historic character.
Our joinery package includes bespoke built-in furniture, shelving, and storage, all measured to suit the existing layout and crafted to the high-quality standards expected within a listed environment. Mechanical and electrical services will be upgraded in tandem, ensuring the refurbished spaces are well-lit, well-ventilated, and fully future-proofed.
